“Sleeptalk” is the fourth track on Dayseeker’s album in 2019 of the same name. The song is about lead singer Rory Rodriguez and his ex-girlfriend. As he explained in a YouTube video, for three years after they had broken up, they continued sleeping together, even going on dates. They were free to see other people, yet he felt guilty when he did, plagued by a fear of saying someone else’s name under his breath while sleeping with his ex-girlfriend.
The lyrics of the song describe the guilt and toxicity of their relationship. The protagonist is feeling guilty for hurting his partner, and their relationship is toxic.
